The Flyers trailed the Islanders 2-0 halfway into the second period of Tuesday’s game.  In the end, they would come back to win 3-2, their 15th consecutive victory against the Islanders - a franchise record!   It was a painful victory for the Flyers, with Dan Carcillo, James Van Riemsdyk, and Lukas Krajicek leaving the ice for medical repairs along the way.

Today it’s one of the best rivalries in the NHL, but back in 1985, Flyers vs. Penguins wasn’t really so much of a fair fight. The Penguins would finish in last place in the Patrick division for the third straight time in the ‘84-’85 season, posting just 24 wins, which was still their most in three years

This is another one of those games where only the result matters, and not the method it was achieved.  The Islanders came into this game with nothing to play for except a job next season
