Painful Victory for Flyers: Carcillo, JVR, and Krajicek require stitches

The Flyers trailed the Islanders 2-0 halfway into the second period of Tuesday’s game.  In the end, they would come back to win 3-2, their 15th consecutive victory against the Islanders - a franchise record!   It was a painful victory for the Flyers, with Dan Carcillo, James Van Riemsdyk, and Lukas Krajicek leaving the ice for medical repairs along the way.

Today in Philly Sports History: Flyers Hang 11 on Penguins, 1985

Today it’s one of the best rivalries in the NHL, but back in 1985, Flyers vs. Penguins wasn’t really so much of a fair fight. The Penguins would finish in last place in the Patrick division for the third straight time in the ‘84-’85 season, posting just 24 wins, which was still their most in three years

Flyers make it 15 straight vs. Islanders

PHILADELPHIA — Obviously, the Flyers still have the Islanders’ number.

Flyers Rally Against Feisty Isles

Tim Panaccio: What’s Become of Hartnell?

Yeah, Scott Hartnell misses Scottie Uphall. And Joffrey Lupul, too. Hartnell ain’t got no mojo.

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer’s Musings & Flyers Gameday (3-9-10) vs Islanders

The Flyers did what they had to do last night, getting a critical four-game homestand off on the right foot. It was good to see Simon Gagne continue his recent roll and even nicer to see Dan Carcillo get kudos for efforts. Say what you will about Carcillo’s periodic meltdowns

Leafs Drop One In Philly

PHILADELPHIA - Simon Gagne wanted the puck and Dan Carcillo delivered. With time winding down in the second period, Carcillo flipped a backhand pass that Gagne deposited into the top left corner of the net. The goal, and another by Danny Bri…
