Clearly upset about not getting Ilya Kovalchuk the other day, the Flyers made a trade to get the next best thing: Ville Leino. Okay, he's not really the next best thing or even the 50th best thing, but this is still a good move by the Flyers.The Flyers acquired Leino from the Red Wings for Ole-Kristian Tollefsen and a 5th round pick. The Flyers have given the news cycle a little something to chew on this morning, sending defenseman Ole-Kristian Tollefson and a 2011 5th rounder to Detroit for forward Ville Leino. No comment from the team yet as to why the Flyers are dealing a defenseman while they are still shorthanded at the position due to injuries and deeper at forward, but OKT wasn't playing all that much, and they seem to be more impressed with Lukas Krajicek.

If you've been tracking the trade rumors involving Ilya Kovalchuk, chances are you know that a few hours ago, a trade was finalized that would send the sniper to New Jersey for a package of Johnny Oduya, Niclas Bergfors, Patrice Cormier, and their 2010 first round pick.

Due to budget constraints and not having any draft picks to deal, the Flyers were never really in the running for Ilya Kovalchuk. Despite all the rumors you heard over the last few days, it simply wasn't feasible for the Flyers to pick up the young sniper who was placed on the trading block by the Atlanta Thrashers.

Not sure there's a whole lot to add to that excessively long title, but I'll give it a quick whirl before calling it a night. One of just a few Oilers I can easily name, even after watching them play for 60 minutes, is Ryan Potulny.
